Mitzi Paxwell

Hi Everyone....this is Mitzi Paxwell, just a plain ole southern girl born and raised in near the plateau in East Tennessee. I spent my childhood picking weeks in my mom's garden, rambling through the woods, wading creeks and searching for geodes along the edge of Dale Hollow Lake (isn't that a great name?). All that exposure to all that natural beauty created a powerful desire to express what I love in the most visual of ways......becoming an artist was inevitable.

Throughout my career I have been fortunate to design all sorts of things...such as greeting cards and children's books. My newest passion though is creating fabric designs! I can't think of anything better then creating a design and seeing it replicated on a quilt or qiftwrap. What a thrill!

When I am not in my studio creating my next collection or rolling in the yard having tickle fights with my two adorable children, you will probably find me hiking on a Smoky Mountain trail looking for new textures, plants or color palettes to inspire.

Decora Flora Have you ever noticed that the simplest pleasures make some of the best memories? That is the inspiration for Decora Flora...an arrangement of flowers from my garden, wrapped in tendrils of ribbon and placed in a sunny window for instant beauty...and then... ever escaping lady bugs finding their way out of the bouquet and flying around looking for freedom!
