Cheryl Reinhard Jukich
Hi ya’ll, this is Cheryl from Havelock, NC.. .you know it is always hard to write something interesting about yourself, but I will try! Many of you might recognize me from my pattern company, Threadbare Pattern Company, which specializes in quilted wearables. I have been designing the famous Quik-Quilt series of jackets for over 16 years.
I live in a small town on the coast of North Carolina that is home to the largest Marine Air base in the world, Cherry Point Air Station. Most of the time my world is quiet and filled with Carolina blue skies; that is, until the jets decide to use the runway over my house! But, as we like to say around here, that is the “sound of freedom”!
In addition to my work with Threadbare, I have co-authored several of the Best Loved Designers book series, had my artwork digitized for Cactus Punch embroidery and been the focus of magazine articles on art and design.
I am passionate about design and décor and love nothing better then the thrill of scouting out junk shops and hauling home that ‘just right’ piece for me or my friends. So my home and gardens are constantly being touched up, moved around or completely rehabbed! (It is a wonder I am still married!)
In order to find inspiration for my Camelot Cotton fabric designs I usually think about the people and things that put a smile on my face. For instance, the collection "Molly’s Garden" was inspired by my love of gardens, tools and garden spaces. I also love, love, love books and old letters, so I came up with the idea of notes written between two dear pals and incorporated those into the garden theme and color palette. That collection then became the inspiration for my next collection called "Molly goes to Paris".
Be sure to check out each collection here on the website. I am sure in looking at the individual designs you will learn more about what inspires me as a fabric artist!

Molly Goes To ParisWell, I love words… especially old words. A vintage postcard or letter. It makes me want to jump back in time and take the life journey with the person who wrote the words. And I have always loved the idea of travel to Paris and so I combined the two. Molly goes to Paris and shares her joyous time with postcards to her friend Libby! |
